FAQ
- Do I need to be an artist?
- No. We use creativity and artmaking to access and engage different parts of the brain. Expressive therapy is about the process and uncovering deeper levels of understanding. No artistic skill is required. Art therapy focuses on emotional expression, self-discovery, processing experiences, and supporting mental health.
- Do I have to make art every session?
- Not at all! Art therapy is flexible, and there may be times when talking, reflecting, or simply connecting feels more important than creating. Artmaking is an invitation, not a requirement.
- If my child is seeking art therapy services, do parents and caregivers participate?
- Yes. Involvement will vary based on your child’s needs and goals. We understand the importance of the relationship between parent and child and can explore creative ways to strengthen your attachment with your child.
